Scotchmans Hill Chardonnay 2018 (Bellarine Peninsula)
The Scotchmans Hill 2018 vintage release Chardonnay is a complex and lively wine, showing nectarine and grapefruit aromas rounded out by creamy notes and nutty oak. The palate is fresh with a mineral edge of white peach and grapefruit making way to a savoury mid palate and cashew nut oak finish. This wine has great cellaring potential, with a tremendous drive and structure that will reward over the next 6 to 8 years.

Scotchmans Hill was established in 1982 on Mount Bellarine, an extinct volcano that forms the tip of the peninsula. The land on which the vineyard was planted had been given its name by a group of Scottish immigrants who settled in the area in 1885.

The yeast lees were stirred monthly over the next 12 months wile maturing in the barrel (New to 4 Year Old French barriques). The wine was then blended, filtered and bottled in June 2019.
