Hoddles Creek Chardonnay 2017 (Yarra Valley)
"Possibly we’ve been a bit slow getting reviews up here, but if you can’t buy with confidence from this producer in 2017, then there’s probably something wrong with you.
White peach, custard powder, more spritely stuff like lemon zest and green olive, perhaps a touch of spice. Light and fresh, some lactic/cheese flavour and stalks, with fine acidity and chalk dust texture, and a savoury finish of good length. It’s a good release, though perhaps a bit different in style this vintage."

SOLD OUT - Hoddles Creek Estate Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2018 vintage is now available here.
All fruit is hand-picked in the morning and immediately de-stemmed and lightly crushed into the press. No enzymes are used; instead the juice is allowed to settle naturally. In 2017, there were approximately fifteen different ferments, these were allowed to start naturally on full solids. After a select period of time, some of the juice was inoculated with cultured yeast then transferred to wood for fermentation. The wine is then left on lees for approximately 11 months. Just before bottling all clones are blended, cold stabilized, fined and filtered. Winery Notes
