Winery & Vintage Info

Inspired by our surroundings we reflect on the essential nature of the Murray Darling to create wines of distinction and sustainability.

The grape variety is a relative of Pinot Noir and known as Pinot Grigio in Italy and Pinot Gris in France. It can be made into wines of varied styles. The Gris style is softer and more generous in flavour than the Grigio style of Italy.

These grapes were picked at full ripeness, yielding good flavour and texture.

‘Late but great’ sums up the 2017 vintage. Good rain in spring, followed by mild weather and only short heat waves resulted in grapes ripening slowly on the vine. It was certainly an unusually late harvest but the wines are something to be proud of – well balanced fruit, plenty of flavour and distinct varietal aromas.

Once harvested, the fruit was crushed and pressed; the juice was cold settled and racked to ferment. The ferment was carried out with selected yeast and stopped with some residual sugar. Post fermentation the wine was stabilised, clarified and bottled. Winery Notes

"The nose is a fresh intense vibrancy of pears and apples with a lovely weighted palate loaded with zesty pear and lychee flavours. A great little quaffer. Good drinking now"’
