Standish Wine Co. Barossa Valley 'The Standish' Shiraz 2017
Standish Wine Company's 2017 'The Standish' fruit is sourced from the Laycock Family Vineyard in Greenock, Barossa Valley and is 100% Shiraz. An organically farmed vineyard, with its roots deep in fragmented ironstone and schist, layered over dark red clay, this Shiraz clone is in its element. The Easterly aspect and soils are the key to this extraordinary wine. Classic Greenock; ferrous, poised, structured.

The 2017 vintage releases from The Standish Wine Company are a reflection of an excellent growing season, with above-average Winter and Spring rainfall and a long, slow ripening period which produced perfect fruit.
Dan Standish is the master of making gorgeously textured wines, unmistakably Barossan with plenty of power yet lithe and supple. These luscious Shiraz’s reveal refined, multi-layered wines with graceful tannins all reflecting the soil they were grown in. Barrel de-classification took a leading role for these creations, bottling less than one-third of production.
