The Bullant label by Lake Breeze is a great range of approachable, drink-now wines using fruit from the family vineyard. The playful label was inspired by the bullants which are known to harass vineyard workers. As is the case with the Lake Breeze wines, the Bullant range over-delivers, possessing vibrant fruit flavours with palate richness and offer great value. The 2019 Bullant Shiraz is a ripe, full-bodied wine which has benefited from 15 months oak maturation. It shows an aroma reminiscent of plums and chocolate with a touch of earthy complexity. The palate is rich and full of black-fruits and has a long soft finish. A wine which could partner a cheese plate equally as well as a rare fillet steak. It is drinking well now but will age gracefully over the next 5 years.

"A good 30% old-vine material, some whole berres, 12 months in older oak with some new oak included as well. Lake Breeze's entry-level label is not to be missed. It's extraordinary value, given the detail of winemaking involved. Good all-round crimson plum notes, fine mocha on the palate and cleverly handled tannin coating."
