Delicious plum and berries flavours on the palate with chocolate and a spice finish.

"Barossa shiraz, mature vines (23-122 years), American oak (second and third fill). From Nuriootpa, Greenock and Craneford.
Luscious shiraz. A very good release. Redcurrant, plum and coal flavours combine with sweet spice, clove and bitumen. It’s succulent and lively from start to finish; the close is then blessed with a fine mesh of tannin. Mouthfeel and flavour are on song here."

There are many blocks of Shiraz on the three Elderton estate vineyards, some as old as 100 years. Some of the best parcels from each of these single sites (the blend for the Elderton Shiraz 2016 from these sites is - Nuriootpa 53%, Greenock 26% and Craneford 21%) are blended to create what one can only describe as ‘the perfect Barossa Shiraz’. The grapes, which are lovingly tended to by Peter Wild and his team, are mainly harvested at an optimum maturity of about 14 – 15 Baume.
The vines ages are between 23 & 122 years of age. Harvested between 25th of February & 17th March 2016. Maturation: Predominantly second and third fill American puncheons for 24 months. Winery Notes
