Mandala has been a dream of the Smedley family for generations, always wanting a place to grow grapes, make their own wine and share it with friends and family. So it really was a 'dream come true' when they planted their first ten acres of Pinot Noir rootlings in the Yarra Junction site in 1999.
Fast forward some very fruitful seven years and they were ready to expand into Dixon's Creek, and together with the Yarra Junction vineyard, they came full circle to create Mandala as we love it today.
Located in the picturesque Yarra Valley, Mandala proudly crafts wines of character and finesse, designed to be enjoyed with good food and great company.
"This is the best Pinot Noir yet under their Yarra Valley label. It is light cherry red; pretty, subtle, stalky and savoury. Lifted wild strawberry, Chinese five spice and rhubarb fruits lead to a lovely, bright, fresh, seamless, complex and understated palate with a lingering finish driven by some crisp acidity. Great wine to buy by the case and enjoy its evolution over the next 5 years."
