Curly Flat Pinot Noir 2016 (Macedon Ranges)
Tasting Notes
Curly Flat Pinot Noir 2016 vintage is medium bodied, with crimson hue.
Red berries swirl among darker fruits, roasted quinces and sweet cinnamon lead, alongside an edge of fresh tobacco leaves, forming a rich, fragrant and savoury nose.
A concentrated, energetic palate with cherries and plum characters front and centre. A long lingering finish, awash with soft, mouth coating tannins.
A fine, powerful expression of Curly Flat Pinot Noir. Approachable now but undoubtedly one for the cellar. An easy 10, if not 15 years lay ahead.
SOLD OUT - The 2017 vintage release of Curly Flat's Pinot Noir is now available to buy here.
"Five clones, 17% whole bunch, wild ferment, 27 days on skins; 20 months in French oak (32% new). Excellent hue and clarity. Glorious bouquet with a riot of spices, red fruits and forest notes; the palate has exceptional structure – the fruit/oak/tannin trilogy is perfect."
