Mike Press Merlot 2016 (Adelaide Hills Single Vineyard)
The Mike Press Merlot 2016 is all berries blackberry, raspberry and strawberry fruit but with some dusty spices as well It has a round luscious mouth feel and good length of palate. It was matured in American and French oak.
A wine to drink now but it will mature and develop for many years to come.

Plenty of fruit, well-integrated oak, a good drag of (ripe) tannin and a juicy finish. This is merlot, open and accessible but sans compromise. You get flavour and softness but you also get structural integrity; there’s nothing gloopy about this. Apple juice acidity is the only distraction but it’s offset by tangy notes of strawberry and redcurrant; in any case, everything else here is in a good place."
