The vineyards are largely planted some 15 km from the coast around Sant Sadurnà d’Anoia and Vilafranca del Penedés at 200m above sea level on a small plateau. Soils are low in organic content and are generally sandy clay with limestone sub-soil, which provide excellent drainage.
With a Mediterranean climate, warm summers and mild winters. Frost is not very common. Annual precipitation is around 500mm. As moving further inland and uphill, the climate gradually becomes more continental with more extreme temperature and with higher precipitation.

The grapes were handpicked at optimum stage of ripeness during the month of September. The wine was vinified with a cold maceration at 5ºC during 48 hours. Temperature controlled fermentation at 24-28ºC in stailess steel tanks. Maceration time 12 days. A percentage of the wine was aged in French oak barrels before blending back into the final blend.
