The soil profile in this dry-grown vineyard is unlike that of any other Tyrrell's vineyard — the defining factor in Vat 47's unique character.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe 2024 vintage was one of the earliest on record in the Hunter Valley. A warm, dry growing season coupled with lower crop levels produced wines of full, intense flavour with excellent line and length.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAll fruit was handpicked between January 8 and 15. Immediately basket-pressed, with free-run juice transferred to French oak barriques — approximately 15% new, 40% second use, the remainder old — to complete fermentation and nine months maturation before bottling in October 2024.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eStonefruit and creaminess on the nose with a hint of ginger spice from the oak. The palate displays grapefruit citrus and a lingering rich fruit sweetness.
