A whorl of dark fruits spiced to the max, with wafts of pomegranate, autumnal scents and freshly rolled tobacco. It is definitely in the riper spectrum, yet the palate unfurls with velvety tannins into sweet fruit. Exceptional length and a pleasing, refreshing lift. It finishes with a crescendo and a long, long carry. This has some gravitas, and the backbone to handle flavoursome food. A serious pinot.'
