Luccarelli's 2021 vintage Primitivo Zinfandel is the ultimate food wine, and a rare variety in Australian wine stores. Get this at a ridiculous price for an imported wine, but it doesn't lack quality. Bright ruby red colour with violet reflections, an intense, fruity aromas (red fruits notes). It's a full-bodied wine, whilst soft it's got grippy tannins, and is well-balanced. Perfect with rich first courses and red meat, game and medium-seasoned cheeses.

Puglia is in the South of Italy, located in the "heel" portion of the country. Primitivo, which is believed to be an ancestor to Zinfandel, is grown and made into lush, fat, cherry-fruit-laden reds which are best drunk young.

The fruit for Luccarelli's 2021 Primitivo Zinfandel is grown on vines with an age of between 15 & 30 years old, very red soil which is rich in iron oxides lying upon a layer of calcareous rock, located in the Salento region (province of Taranto).

De-stemming and crushing of the grapes; maceration at controlled temperature for 8-10 days with regular pumping overs. Draining off and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Winery Notes
